The focus of the YWCA of Tanzania Strategic Plan 2017 - 2021  is Scaling-up Transformative Interventions for Women, Youth (especially Girls) and Children in Tanzania. YWCA’s strategic goals and objectives for the period are:

Socio-Economic Empowerment and Transformative Leadership of Youth, Specifically Young Women and Girls
To contribute to the reduction of poverty levels in Tanzania, especially among women and youth specifically young women and to promote their participation in decision making at all levels of society.

Gender Equality and Human Rights
To contribute to the elimination of gender-based imbalances that disadvantage women, young women and girls.

HIV & AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Interventions
To contribute to the improvement of SRH&R and a reduction of instances of HIV and AIDS in Tanzania, as well as addressing the vulnerability HIV and SRHR violations pose to women, young women, girls and children.

Adolescent and Youth Empowerment
To contribute to creating and supporting enabling conditions for the socio-economic empowerment of adolescents and youth.

Membership and Organisational Capacity Development
To increase the organisational and membership capacity of the YWCA of Tanzania, in order to enable the organisation to implement effective, efficient and sustainable interventions.
